How to Lose Your Inhibitions in Bed

Feeling shy during sex is common. Body image, fear of judgment and uncertainty about what a partner thinks can make even a safe relationship feel awkward.

Start with trust

It is easier to relax when you know your boundaries will be respected. Talk about what you like, what you are curious about and what is off-limits.

Stop performing

Sex is not an audition. You do not need to look like a porn performer, make a certain amount of noise or reach orgasm on schedule. Paying attention to sensation instead of appearance can reduce self-consciousness.

Try small steps

You do not have to jump immediately into your biggest fantasy. Leave the lights on a little longer, initiate a new position, wear something that makes you feel attractive or say one thing you would like to try.

Accept awkward moments

Bodies make noises. Positions fail. People laugh. Good sex often includes imperfect moments.

Confidence usually grows through positive experiences rather than by forcing yourself to be fearless. The goal is not to eliminate every inhibition but to feel safe enough to express desire honestly.
